Understanding the
Transi琀椀on
The move from Recep琀椀on to Year 1 marks a signi昀椀cant stage in your child9s
educa琀椀onal journey. While children con琀椀nue to build on their early years9
experiences, they also begin to encounter more formalised learning aligned
with the Na琀椀onal Curriculum. For many children, this is their 昀椀rst
experience of working at tables, par琀椀cipa琀椀ng in more formal lessons, and
being measured against na琀椀onal expecta琀椀ons.

during this transi琀椀on and, more importantly, how to support their child at
